Nora's Goofy Faces

Nora is reminding me a bit of her cousin, Molly, these days with her faces.

Especially this one.^

Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I know this girl. I got this idea from her.

However, I guess she got this idea from this girl. I don't know her, but I think if I did, I'd probably be okay with her.

Hey, It's Okay . . .

. . . to not replace all the mechanical/electrical things that keep croaking all at once just because you're afraid that everything will croak all over again at the same time in five more years.

. . . if your toddling son has an obsession with a beaded necklace.

Yeah. It matches his outfit.

. . . to still curse yourself for not getting all four wisdom teeth out the first two times that you had the chance. (Getting the bottom two out tomorrow. Yay.)

. . . to love it that your kids share the same zone-out face.

. . . to want to cry right along with your preschooler when you find out that school is canceled by a sign on the front door of the school. (It was supposed to be picture day, too, so I had her all dolled up and ready for "cheese.")

. . . to be bummed that the dent that happened to your new range didn't happen on the side that would be hidden so that you could get an extra 10% off . . . and have, you know, a range at your disposal.

. . . if you have a dog that broke a panel off your new fence (reinforced with a chain, no less) to escape because he just couldn't handle living an hour without you. (Actually, I tend to think that this isn't okay.)

. . . to be really glad that we don't know how well we're going to sleep each night. It's always nice to have the hope that maybe "tonight will be the night" that we get to sleep from when our head hits the pillow until the time we need to wake up in the morning. Le sigh.

JD Moment

Last night, as Willis gave me a hug, he said, "This might make me weird, but every time we hug like this, it makes me want to . . ."

At this moment (which was less than a second), my imagination took over and finished his sentence. I probably came up with three or four different scenarios of what he was about to say (some of them funny, some of them less so), but none of them came close to what he actually said. I guess you could call this mental sentence-finishing a "JD moment." I'm talking, like, a JD from Scrubs moment, here.

". . . throw you."

"Huh?"

Yeah.

Then, he proceeded to do some wrestling moves in the kitchen (showing me how he'd throw me without actually throwing me, of course) and got a floor burn on the top of his foot.

He's all mine, ladies!

It Was a Fluke

Henry's sleeping through the night was just a fluke, I guess. He did it two nights in a row, and then, the past two nights have involved his typical waking.

I guess we should be glad he's not waking up every hour like he was doing about a week ago.

One day we will sleep! Maybe.

Wah wah.

Ta Dah!

I've been up for a couple of hours, and I am still completely ecstatic about this. Henry slept from about 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. last night.

BOOYA!

He did fuss a tiny bit (which, I didn't wake up enough to be concerned, and I wake up at EVERY noise he makes), but he always managed to get himself back to sleep peacefully.

Having a decent night of sleep after not having one for so long has been glorious so far (you know, two hours into it). Both kids are in great moods. I'm in a great mood. I could do a cartwheel right here. I won't, though. I don't want to ruin it by breaking stuff . . . or pulling something.

WIN!

He's still a bit snotty/sickly. None of us have joined him with it yet (I'm actually still trying to rid myself of the previous cold that I had), and I'm hopeful that we won't. I'm also hopeful that he'll get over this one pretty quickly since he got some sleep last night.

I think maybe he's been a demon-child for about two weeks because he's been feeling sick that whole time. It's so sad: I had no idea that he was sick until the snot arrived. I just thought he was possessed. Now, he's ridiculously charming and happy. I knew something wasn't right.

Thank God that "demon child" is not his normal disposition. I was starting to think it could be for about a week or two.

RELIEF!

Gotta get a little girl ready for school. (By the way, she is still the only kid there that has yet to cry. I don't know how I got so lucky with that, but I'll take it!)

The end.

Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

Yep. Yep.

We're going to do this photo-style.

Hey, It's Okay . . .

. . . to put your kids in a cage now and then.

. . . to put your kid in an undersized box/basket now and then.

. . . if your screen door looks like this.

Wait. No it isn't!
