Roomba Boom Boom

It's funny: I think not long after I posted about Nora's projectile vomit last time, she vomited on me again—right at my computer. She's a real pro. No jokin'.

I just talked to my friend Lena who is a proud owner of a Roomba. I want one now. Badly. I feel like I'm always vacuuming my house. I want a robot to do it—or a monkey like I had mentioned before.

These photos mark some fun things. Nora's first outdoor walk is in there. We finally set up her crib over the weekend. She also is smiling and cooing at the animals on her bouncy seat there at the bottom.

Just yesterday, Nora started lifting up her head during tummy time. She's a tank! She's also eating and pooping a lot right now. I'm not sure what that's about, but it's making me hungry (well . . . not the poop part so much, but I suppose it's a function of me feeding her).

I've started posting videos on facebook. I realized that my phone records videos with sound, and now I am happy.

I worked too much yesterday. I think Nora's mad at me about it. I think that's why she keeps filling up her diapers. I intend to take it a little easier today.

At least it looks like Scotland outside.

I'm still totally craving chocolate chip cookies, and I keep making them.

I'm hungry. I'm gonna go eat a sandwich or something.

Projectile Vomit

I forgot to mention that two days ago, I fed Nora on the couch (this was after I got home from a work meeting at headquarters), and when I got up to do some work upstairs (after trying to burp her, mind you), she projectile vomited through my hair, over my shoulder, and all over the couch. It was pretty amazing. She did it in three, hard bursts, and when I looked at her face, it was all red. She was blinking really fast like it might have hurt, and when I got in her face and asked, "Are you okay," the little bugger smiled at me. Hilarious.

So, my Dirt Devil Spot Scrubber paid for itself on Wednesday. Man am I glad I got that thing.

Right now, she's cooing at the animals on her bouncy seat. It's so awesome. I just took a picture of it, so that'll be in the next round of photos, no doubt.

I tried to put her in the Bumbo seat for the first time today, but she wasn't quite ready for it yet. It's possible she may hate it in general, but I have a feeling her neck strength isn't quite what it should be for that yet.

Time's A-flyin'

My baby is growin' fast, man. We went to the doctor yesterday, and we discovered that she's 12 pounds, 11 ounces and 24 inches long. She's in the 90th percentile for that stuff, and I have no idea where that comes from. She's 75th percentile in head circumference, so that's probably a good thing. She's HUGE! She is currently in 3-6 month sized clothes. I can't stand it, man. She's only a little over two months old! I moved her into larger diaper covers a couple weeks ago, and I remember feeling a lump in my throat about that. Oy.

Two days ago, I finally got set up to work from home. It's been interesting working the bugs out and figuring out how I'm going to do this. I think it's going to work out, though. I'm a tad nervous about it, of course, but I'm thrilled to try it nonetheless. I'm currently working on a project that is the largest project that I ever do at work, and I'm finding that I'm having some massive lagging issues with the linked files. This presents a bit of a problem since I'm trying to get this thing done quickly. (That's really what's making me nervous about this whole thing.) In fact, I'm updating this blog right now while I'm waiting for stuff to load on the other computer. It's serious, man. I even have the files saved to my desktop, but the links are what are slowing me down. I can't copy all the links to my desktop, either. There are hundreds. So, I guess I have to kind-of sit and wait for stuff. It's not a huge deal, though, for now. I'm just glad I have something to do while I wait (Nora's generally napping on my lap while I'm working right now). I just hope they don't get frustrated with how slowly I'm seeming to move on this. Ugh. We'll see, I guess.

Lena came over yesterday! I hadn't seen that girl in awhile. She brought me some chocolate from the Albanese candy factory, and a cute little outfit for Nora for summer. We went to lunch and tried to catch up. I think we still had some more catching up to do, but to solve that, we just need to see each other again soon. At least the dog was a total idiot the whole time she was here. I was on his case constantly (because he was on Lena constantly), and that didn't really help us with the catching up factor. There's a photo of her up there holding the beeb. I just wish I didn't have the newspaper recycling in the background. Doh!

Speaking of the photos, you'll also see a few photos of our nutso cat hanging out in Willi's weekend bag. What a dork. I took those so I could convince Willis to put that thing away when he got home.

After Lena left yesterday, the Tru-Green guy stopped by and rang the doorbell, and since Hobbes was still being an idiot, he pushed the screen door open (it doesn't close all the way in the winter for some reason) ran out to sniff the guy, and then started to follow the guy down the street after I turned the guy down for his service. What's more: the guy ended up having to help me get Hobbes to come back, and as soon as he got back in the house, the dog knew he was in trouble. He went straight to Notre Dame for that little stunt. It was a terrible twos day, man. I felt like I had a really difficult toddler yesterday—a special needs difficult toddler, but a difficult toddler nonetheless. He's generally a good dog when it's just us, but when we have guests, he turns into a fool!

The weather is awesome today. I may try to venture out there with Nora on her awesome all-terrain stroller. (I say all-terrain stroller because this thing is serious and has giant wheels.) We'll see if I get a chance to do it, though. I'd really, really like to.

I think now that I'm working from home and now that it's getting warmer, time is going to fly. I don't know if I want it to. My kid is growing so fast as it is. I'm having fun with her now.

I really want a housecleaning monkey, by the way. I wonder if those trunk monkeys do houses.

Alright. My other computer has completed loading something for the time being. I should be able to move along a bit there. Maybe. Catch you kids later.

Fastest Weekend of My Life, What Do You Think!?

Sersly. That weekend flew. We were in Wolcott, Indy, I was in Bargersville, Columbus, and then Lafayette. Dude. What a weekend! Friday night, we stayed with my Ps, and then Saturday night, we stayed over at Amanda and Josh's. Sunday, we stopped by the Browns. Willi had somewhere to be in Indy, and I went to visit some of my good ol' buddies over in Bargersville at my friend Ariel's house. I saw Ariel, Bethy, Brenda, Jamie, and Jeremy. I saw a bunch of little munchkins, too. It was awesome. I can tell Nora is still wiped out from the weekend, too. She's been napping most of this day, and she slept really well for us last night—even with the nuts time change. We always seem to be in the Eastern time zone when we spring forward. In doing that, we always lose two hours for a little while. It's harsh. Harsh harsh harsh. Stupid daylight savings time. I don't have a clock to change for my baby. She's got her own little clock.

I need to get to the grocery sometime today. The time change has me all whacked out, though. I hope I can pull it off. We'll see. So far, I still have yet to eat lunch. So . . . yeah.

Oh. I got my first ever speeding ticket yesterday. Yeah. It was on 52 between Lebanon and Lafayette. I got pulled over by a guy in a black Dodge Charger. What's sick: I have no idea how fast I was going, and I figured it was somewhere around 70 ('cause it's so easy to go -like- 80 on 52 without even realizing it, and I've definitely done that before). He clocked me at 75 in a 60. Luckily, he gave me a ticket for 74 in a 60. Yeah. Willi was there and got to watch that happen. What's more: I was totally bragging to Willis about a half hour prior that it has been about three years since my accident on our wedding day. I was saying, "Our insurance should be going down here pretty soon! Plus, I haven't been pulled over in YEARS!"

So much for that. Frick! (Excuse my language.) I lose.

There was a winter advisory for everywhere we were this weekend, yet it didn't start snowing on us until we were almost home last night. How do you like them apples?

Um. I'm really getting close to needing it to just be spring already. I'm cold.

Our dog is totally laying in our bed right now, and I know that when I stand up to go somewhere in the house, he's going to hop down and pretend he was in his little bed the whole time. He's already done it one other time today. He thinks he's smarter than me, and in this particular situation, he totally is. I can't scold him for being on the bed when he's not on it when I catch him. Punk.

Nora travels well, we discovered, so that's awesome. She did cry for a good half hour or 45 minutes last night, though, and we aren't sure if it's because she was ridiculously exhausted or if I ate something that bothered her. I'm guessing it was the former since she's been napping more than she's been awake today.

Okay . . . this lost hour has me really screwed up. I need to get moving to accomplish a thing or two today.
