House in La Porte

Okay . . . holy crap! It's been a serious few days!

The parents came to check out the house in LaPorte, and it turns out that everyone loved it. So, we put an offer on it on Sunday night. As of yesterday at 4 p.m., nobody else had placed an offer on the house. So . . . so far, so good!

We also found out yesterday that the house isn't owned by just a person. It's owned by a relocation company. After a little bit of thinking, we determined that this was good news. A relocation company isn't going to get emotional with the dealings that come with selling a home, and there's a good chance that because of that, we may get this house for a good price (and the price we offered). A company is also very prompt with their timing, and more likely to follow the rules. The company has also still offered (apparently, sometimes they say, "Too bad. This house is being sold as is.") to have problems fixed (contingent on the inspection, of course). So . . . that's good news.

This has turned out to be quite a busy week . . . and a stressful one at that.

We're supposed to find out by 5 p.m. (Central Time) tomorrow whether or not our offer was accepted. Boy . . . Now I can really relate to that Tom Petty song. (I don't normally relate much to Tom Petty songs.)

So . . . if the news tomorrow is indeed that we could be homeowners, I'll be sure to post some pictures for ya. In the meantime I'm gonna spare myself the potential sadness . . .
